Steve and Bob Boxwell started Laneco Builders in 1972 after helping build their parents' cabin in Winter Park during the summer between college semesters. Laneco’s first home in Grand Country Estates sold for $25,000 before we finished it!

They evolved into Boxwell Brothers Construction in the late seventies and continued building custom homes, establishing their reputation in Grand County as the highest quality builder with impeccable integrity.

Boxwell Brothers Construction took a seven year hiatus, during which Steve lived in Hawaii building custom homes and Bob worked for a large commercial general contractor in Denver. Bob returned to the Fraser Valley in early 1993 and started Boxwell Construction Co., Inc. (BCCI). Steve returned from the islands to join BCCI in 1996. Larry Steffen joined BCCI in 1997 and became a partner in 2002. The team has since grown to 25 full time employees.

Boxwell now builds 8-10 custom homes a year, ranging in price from $300,000 up to $4.1 million. They have also have built such notable public projects as the Fraser and Granby Libraries, the Winter Park Mountain Lodge, and the Grand Lake Fire station; all coming in on time and under budget.

In 2006, Boxwell completed their “Design Center” in their Tabernash offices and started a Design and Build division to compliment their conventional Architect/Owner relationships. Boxwell currently builds about 4-6 homes a year through this division.
